Today is the last day to send any post to the North, while the deadlines to send post abroad have now passed.
This Christmas, it is expected that about two million Christmas cards and around one million parcels will pass through An Post’s hub.

People moan when a letter is delivered to the wrong address which is a mild inconvenience to be honest, but not the end of the world as the letters obviously got to the correct address by acknowledging the mistake. However, these instances are few and far between and you won’t hear those who complain acknowledging that 99% (estimate) of their post is delivered timely to the correct address. The hyperbole kicks in and you would be excused for believing that not a single item in the Irish postal system is delivered to the correct address if your view is based on some of the nonsense posted in the comments section on here.
My birthday card disappeared last week on the between galway and limerick! My neighbours and I got mail that wasn’t ours! How hard can it be? Wrong estate is one thing but putting the post for number 13 into 14 when both have big numbers on the doors is just incompetence!!
I used to send a lot of Christmas cards but with the price of stamps now I don’t send any, i just can’t afford it and forget about sending parcels to anyone you’d need to be a bank manager to afford it
